How to make an invoice
- The form opens with made-up sample data. Type over it, or press Start blank.
- Enter your business details and, if you have one, upload a PNG or JPG logo. Add your client’s name and address.
- Give the invoice a number, an issue date and a due date, and choose the currency.
- Add one line per product or service with a quantity and a unit price. The amount is worked out for you.
- Add a discount, a tax rate and shipping if they apply, then your payment details.
- Check the preview and press Download PDF. Long invoices continue on a second page automatically.
What an invoice should contain
- The word “Invoice” and a unique invoice number. Number invoices in order (INV-0001, INV-0002, …) and never reuse a number.
- Your name or business name and contact details, and the client’s name and address.
- The issue date and the due date (or payment terms such as “due within 14 days”).
- A clear description of each item, with quantity, unit price and line amount.
- Subtotal, any discount, any tax and the total due, with the currency stated.
- How to pay: bank name, account title and account number or IBAN, or another payment method you accept.
- Your tax or registration number, if you are registered and your country requires it on invoices.
Tax rules differ from country to country and depend on whether you are registered. This tool only does the arithmetic with the rate you type; it does not tell you whether to charge tax, at what rate, or what must legally appear on your invoice. Check with your tax authority or an accountant.
How the totals are calculated
Each line amount is quantity × unit price, rounded to the currency’s smallest unit. The discount is taken off the subtotal, tax is charged on the discounted subtotal (plus shipping, if you tick that box), and shipping is added. The sample invoice works like this:

Sums are done in whole minor units (paisa, cents) rather than decimal fractions, so the rounding errors that ordinary computer arithmetic can produce do not creep into the total. Halves round up: 2.5 × 33.33 = 83.325, which becomes 83.33.
Tips and limits
- Use a dot for decimals (1250.50). Thousands separators are optional.
- Most currencies use two decimal places; Japanese yen uses none and Kuwaiti, Bahraini and Omani currencies use three. The tool follows this automatically.
- The PDF uses standard fonts that cover English and Western European letters. Symbols such as ₹ and ৳ are not in those fonts, so the invoice shows the currency code (INR, BDT) instead. Other unsupported characters are replaced and listed in a warning.
- One tax rate applies to the whole invoice; per-item tax rates are not supported.
- Your data, including the logo, is saved in this browser only. Use Export data to keep a copy or to reuse it as a template.

Frequently asked questions
Is the invoice generator free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on the number of invoices. The PDF is made in your browser.
Which currencies are supported?
Pakistani rupee is the default. You can also pick US dollar, euro, British pound, Indian rupee, UAE dirham, Saudi riyal and several others. Amounts use the right number of decimal places for each currency.
How is the tax calculated?
Tax is the rate you enter, applied to the subtotal after the discount, and to shipping as well if you tick that option. The tool does not know your local tax rules, so check which rate, if any, applies to you.
Is my data or logo uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything, including the logo, stays in your browser and is saved only on this device. Press Clear all to delete the saved copy.
Can I reuse an invoice as a template?
Yes. Your last invoice is kept in this browser. You can also export it as a JSON file and import it later, then change the number, dates and items.
Why does my currency symbol show as a code?
The PDF uses standard fonts that do not include every symbol. When a symbol such as ₹ is missing, the invoice shows the currency code, for example INR, so the amount is still clear.
