MDCAT aggregate formula
Aggregate = (Matric ÷ 1100 × 10) + (FSc ÷ 1100 × 40) + (MDCAT ÷ 180 × 50)

Example: Matric 1000/1100, FSc 950/1100 and MDCAT 150/180: 9.09 + 34.55 + 41.67 = 85.30%.
MDCAT has had 180 MCQs of 1 mark each since 2025, with no negative marking: Biology 81, Chemistry 45, Physics 36, English 9 and Logical Reasoning 9. If your year’s test had a different total, change the MDCAT total box.
The 10/40/50 weighting is used by most public medical colleges. Some provinces or universities apply extra rules (for example, how part-1 FSc marks are used when final results aren’t out). Always confirm in the official admission notice.
Tips to improve your merit
- The test has the biggest weight you can still change, so focus your preparation there.
- Use the target box to see exactly how many marks you need, and practise past papers under timed conditions.
- Apply to several universities and programs, since cut-offs change every year.

What is the MDCAT aggregate formula?

Can I use FSc part 1 marks?
If your final FSc result isn’t out yet, universities often accept part 1 marks (out of 550). Enter 550 as the FSc total in that case, and check the admission notice.
