How attendance percentage is calculated
Attendance % = classes attended ÷ total classes × 100
Example: 42 of 60 classes = 70%. To reach 75%, you need to attend the next 12 classes in a row: (42 + 12) ÷ (60 + 12) = 54 ÷ 72 = 75%.
Why attendance matters
Many universities and colleges, especially in Pakistan and India, require 75% or 80% attendance to sit final exams. Falling short can mean a short-attendance penalty or being barred from exams, so track it early in the semester.
