How to make audio louder
- Choose your file.
- Pick Boost and set the amount, or choose Normalise to let the tool decide.
- Press Boost volume and download the MP3.
The first time you use this tool, your browser downloads the media engine (about 31 MB, FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly). It’s cached afterwards, so later uses start quickly. A computer is much faster than a phone for long files.
Boost or normalise?
- Boost raises everything by the same amount. +6 dB roughly doubles the signal level. Keep the limiter on to avoid harsh clipping.
- Normalise measures the overall loudness and adjusts it to a consistent level similar to streaming platforms. It’s best for podcasts and voice recordings.

How much can I boost?
Up to +20 dB. Large boosts also raise background noise, so start around +6 dB.
Why does my audio sound distorted?
The signal is clipping. Keep the limiter on, use a smaller boost, or try Normalise.
Can I boost the sound of a video?
Yes. Choose the video and you’ll get its boosted audio as an MP3.
